I loved this manga. Haven’t read the original web novel but I am planning to buy the new novel. Is there a good site where I can order it? Also has anyone heard the radio drama of this series? In my opinion it was good but I wanted to know what other people thought.

Sounds right up my street, kind of like Welcome to the NHK (which I loved). Hell, I can almost always root for a protagonist who has genuine issues surrounding romance or sex. Can’t say I’ve really read many doujins before, but I’m very interested. Will certainly check this out.

@lelangir: I love the little details like that. The ‘storyboard’ structure is fantastic, especially for a non-commercial work.

@Ghostlightning: ah, my bad. I didn’t bother with the second series of Haruhi but I’ve ordered the light novel – will keep you posted.

@2DT: I don’t know if it’ll make it to anime, to be honest. I don’t think it’s impossible, but if it gets any sort of screen adaptation it’ll probably be straight-to-DVD. I’m not sure where the Japanese TV censorship stands on subjects like this, but I don’t think it’ll get past them. I wouldn’t mind being proved wrong though.

As for the Catcher in the Toilet light novel that GL and 2DT mentioned, I think it’s this one. I’ll give it a read soonish!

I’d love to know what the Japanese think about the series. It’s at least popular enough that there’s supposedly going to be a remake/novelization called “Catcher in the Toilet,” and from there, who knows? Is an anime too much to hope for, I wonder?

And if you watched Haruhi (including Endless 8), there’s a bucketload of Macross references. I love it when animu and mango remembers love.

My favorite panel was when (in the last chapter) Kurosawa is opening the door and his hand is on the doorknob and then it’s juxtaposed with the bathroom cubicle lock. Great metaphor/image.
