happy one year! This year has been a quiet one for me, and Bakemonogatari is really the only one I want to celebrate from the above, but hey, I still caught up with some old titles and blogged heaps of old anime I watched, so it's all good!

@usagijen: thanks! Don't let the OEG get to you either - I look forward to you posting more in future too!

@Peter S: yeah, I was going for diversifying so I'm glad you appreciate it. JUST AS PLANNED.

@otou-san: Cutie Honey is great fun. Really. Slightly more wholesome and - gasp - family-friendly than I expected it to be too. Point taken with Audition - I have a few days off near christmas and there's not much worth watching on TV over the festive season, so...

@Chris K: writing the full post for Summer Wars took absolutely ages! I'm waiting on a raw with decent resolution for screencaps, but writing about it is indeed hard.

@Moritheil: yeah, there are some smallish film festivals in the UK (Leeds and London usually) but when there's anime on it's a good opportunity to see it on the big screen. That's the best way to see the likes of Ponyo and Summer Wars, and it brings them to a wider audience in that setting too.

@Wildcard: thanks for...lurking? Yeah, Kara no Kyoukai would've been my highlight of the year if it hadn't been for Summer Wars. Watched the seventh movie last night and was utterly stunned. *_*

Congrats on a year of great blogging! Haven't always had the chance to comment, but I have been reading.

Props for highlighting Kara No kyoukai, Eden of the East and Summer Wars - certainly some of the best watches for me this year.

Congratulations! Level up!

It's interesting that you chose to comment on a film festival.

Congrats, on your one year anniversary, and I do agree with Peter S on how diverse your topics are with this blog. On the topic of Summer Wars, I've found it hard to do a proper review due to the quality issues you've mentioned.

Happy one year!

I've always wanted to see that live-action Cutie Honey. Not sure why exactly, but if Anno can get corny there must be something to it. As for Audition, watch it. I'm guessing if you've read the book there will be some loss of impact (the movie changes tone drastically partway through and you can guess why/how). But it's a great flick, Takashi Miike at his most controlled and creepy, and if you're not already a fan of his it'll prove that he can do something that isn't just over-the-top.

Congrats! I remember thinking when you took a hiatus last year that you might not be back, but here you are, happy in your one year-old blogging clothes! I must say that's an eclectic list you have on this post. Looks like you succeeded in branching out in your blogging as you intended!
